Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MovieWhiz mobile app and website (together, the “Service”) operated by MovieWhiz (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Your Account

You can play MovieWhiz as a guest or create an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. User Content

The Service lets you create challenges, submit answers, and post other content (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant MovieWhiz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute it for the purpose of operating and promoting the Service. You are solely responsible for your User Content and represent that you have all necessary rights to share it.

4. Acceptable Use

  • Do not upload or share content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or that violates the privacy of others.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its underlying systems.
  • Do not use the Service to send spam, malware, or to scrape data in violation of these Terms.
  • Do not impersonate other users, public figures, or MovieWhiz staff.

5. Purchases & Subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google, and our payments provider. Pricing, billing cycles, and refund eligibility follow the rules of the platform you purchased through. Auto-renewing subscriptions can be managed and cancelled in your device’s account settings.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, branding, and curated content, is owned by MovieWhiz and its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

7. AI-Generated Content

MovieWhiz uses third-party AI providers to generate quiz questions, hints, and other content. AI output may be inaccurate or unexpected. You agree not to rely on AI-generated content for any high-stakes purpose and to report content that violates these Terms.

8. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the safety, security, or integrity of the Service. When your account is deleted, your identifying information is anonymized in our systems; some content you posted publicly may remain available without identifying you.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MovieWhiz and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MovieWhiz is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction unless local consumer-protection law grants you the right to bring action elsewhere.
